Katie's QC Blind Date

While in the QC (that's the Quad Cities for all you square kids out there) over Labor Day weekend, I decided to take Katie on one of our patented blind dates. The QC being my home town, I finally got a leg up on ideas on Katie since normally her knowledge of things to do in West Michigan soars above anything I know about. That makes it kind of hard to surprise her with something new. But in the QC, it's a whole new ball game. I still kept it simple though. She says she had a great time.

First stop: Empire Park which has an awesome wooden
playground. At this point she doesn't know where she is.

This gave it away. She figured out that she's at a park.

We explored the large wooden playground and
of course... we swung on the swings!

Next stop: Green Tree Brewery
I didn't know much about it either other than the
fact Le Claire had gotten a brewery, but several people
recommended it, so we gave it a try.

So we got a flight. I made Katie try all the beers
blindfolded. Her favorite was a chocolate cherry stout.

And that was the blind date. I had a couple of ideas like taking her out to lunch, but we had some errands to get done. But we did make a stop before the blind date to Habanero's for tacos. It was not technically part of the blind date, but the tacos and salsa are delicious enough mention.
