Munich Olympic Park

I THINK this will be the final post on Munich, as we're actually in Hamburg as I write this. But, no promises. Our final day in Munich was a cold, rainy one. We took advantage of touring the warm, dry Residenz in the morning, but in the afternoon we braved the rain to check out the grounds of the Olympic Park.

Munich hosted the 1972 Summer Olympics

Olympic hall. A big concert was taking place inside while we were there

Olympic swimming hall, still being used by the public today

Olympic tower. You have to pay 7 euro per person to go up, so we declined

Olympic torch in the center of the picture

Olympic stadium. You could "fly" across the stadium on a rope for a ridiculous sum

Peering thru the glass into the Olympic training area. Note the Brandon ghost.

Olympic pond with a giant hill in the background

View of the tower from across the pond

We got this panoramic view after climbing to the top of the giant hill. We also got quite wet as the rain increased from a mist to a drizzle.

View of the BMW building as we headed back to the subway station. You can tour the BMW welt, but we weren't able to as it closed early for a private event.

We dried out, and everything was better with tacos from Taco Libre

Taco Libre: Not the best tacos, but a sweet name for a taco shop given the reference to movie Nacho Libre
