The bar area: a collection of couches and community tables all in a small warehouse space. |
The tap list. Brewing space in the background. |
The tap list looked really interesting. Our normal go-to option is to get a flight, but sadly they don't do flights. That seems to be a common theme here in Melbourne. But the barkeep was awesome; he made up for their lack of flights by basically giving us a sample of everything we were interested in trying plus a couple of beers he just wanted us to try. By the time we got around to actually ordering our beers we probably had already had a pot and a half. It was quite wonderful, and it helped us find a couple of really good beers. I settled on the Dark Ale, and Katie got the Pine-Lime Ice Cream IPA.
Our beers. The coasters were quite punny. |
Katie was quite excited that her beer was "Katie sized", since a pot is smaller than a pint |
They had a bookshelf that opens to another part of the brewery. So cool! |
So like I said before, we were quite impressed. My only complaint was that they didn't have any stouts or porters available, which is what I tend to favor. But that again seems to be a theme here in Melbourne right now. Katie thinks it is because they're transitioning to summer beers. I think that in addition to that more people just favor lighter beers here so dark beers just aren't as common. It didn't matter this time though cuz our beers were still good and we had a great time!
Cheers
