Last Euro Trip Stop: Washington DC

I was excited about this last leg of our trip ever since Katie a couple of months came up the idea to include DC as a stop to both see Faber and Erica and to make our means of returning to the States be as cheap a possible. The three best words to describe our time in DC are food, friends, and relaxation. I think the only other time we were this relaxed in the month of April was in Vienna. This was especially evident with our sleep. For the first time in probably a month we slept like rocks two nights in a row. During the days when we weren't eating we would just chill at their place, maybe play a game (we taught them how to play Hanabi) or take a walk. No agenda, just relaxation with friends at its finest. It was wonderful.

We didn't take a group picture. I meant to take one at the taco place but forgot. But if we had it probably would have looked something like this.
I think is sums up our weekend with them quite well :)

An actual picture of our friends, just not from our weekend

Our food/drink endeavors were as follows: Chipotle x 2 (first night and again in the airport as we left), breakfast burritos from Pica Taco, several beers from DC Brau, the DC staple of a giant slice of pizza, an amazing home cooked meal with some of Faber and Erica's friends in Baltimore, Takorean Tacos (a Mexican/Korean fusion that I think I could seriously eat every day), and one of Faber's home brewed brown ales.

DC Brau India Style Pale Lager. Surprisingly refreshing.

DC Brau Milk Stout - Our favorite of the batch we got to sample

Me with my giant slice of DC pizza.
Some regrets were had, but still worth it (I think)

I heard of this place or one like it from a coworker. But Faber and Erica were already well aware of its delicious existence. So we made an extra special trip on Sunday.

Our Takorean Tacos

I've been wanting to catch up with these awesome friends for some time. They deserve much more than just weekend layover stop, but given their busy schedule and our desire to eventually get home, this quick weekend worked out really well. But I do hope we get to see them one more time before our sabbatical is all said and done. Or maybe they should just move back out to GR! *hint hint*
